Initial thoughts?
I tried my new reel during two different fishing trips, and I’m super happy with how it handles. The first trip was at Diamond Valley Lake where I went after Striped bass. I didn’t catch anything, but the reel worked smoothly all day long.
I took it surf fishing next at Dana Point with a Penn Battalion II surf rod. The fish didn’t cooperate there either, but the reel showed off how solid it is. I loaded it with 50 lb Power Pro in hi-vis Yellow, and it fits with the setup. What caught my attention most is how tough this reel is.
